Teiji Hayama

Born in Kumamoto, Japan, he studied at Central Saint Martins in London and is now based in Switzerland. He is known for portraits of pop icons such as Twiggy and Marilyn Monroe, which he stretches and distorts digitally before painting them. By shifting and layering familiar faces, his work reflects how people become icons and how images live in the digital age.
