ジュリアン・オピーJulian Opie

Born in London and trained at Goldsmiths, he developed a style of depicting people with bold outlines and simplified faces. His Walking series, which reduces passers-by photographed in the city to lines and flat colour, is among his best known. A collector of ukiyo-e, he draws on the economy of line found in Japanese prints, working across prints, lenticulars, LED and sculpture.
